...New interactive multimedia training enables project and business managers to adopt best practices...

LONDON - Thursday 3rd March 2011 - ILX Group plc, the global software company delivering innovative Best Practice training solutions, today launched Management of Risk (M_o_R®) Foundation and Practitioner Gold courses to help organisations put in place effective frameworks for taking informed decisions about risk. The courses provide a route map for risk management, bringing together recommended guidance from the Office of Government Commerce (OGC), detailed checklists and more detailed advice on tools and techniques.

ILX Group's accredited M_o_R® Foundation e-learning course covers all aspects of the OGC's M_o_R® guidance. Using voice, animation and practical activities, the course takes approximately 12 hours to complete, which is equivalent to a three-day workshop. The main body of the course consists of ten sessions which cover the principles, approach and processes of M_o_R®, together with guidance on how to embed it within the organisation. The course also looks at Risk Management as a corporate specialism and provides instruction on how to conduct Risk Health Checks and evaluate the organisation according to the Management of Risk Maturity Model.

ILX Group's accredited M_o_R® Risk Practitioner Gold course contains all the training materials required to attain both the Foundation and Practitioner qualifications. The course combines highly effective, interactive multimedia training, together with workshops, video content, practical exercises, mock exam simulations and paper based exercises. Using the latest developments in e-learning, the M_o_R® Practitioner Gold course provides delegates with knowledge and understanding of the full scope, content and structure of the M_o_R® guidance to help prepare them for the Foundation and Practitioner examinations.

Delegates studying for the Foundation and Practitioner level will also have access to an M_o_R® training expert throughout the entire programme. ILX's highly interactive exam simulator also provides an opportunity to practice exam techniques in real-time, prior to attempting the real exam.

The ILX package includes a two-day workshop where individuals will gain an invaluable insight into how to pass the Foundation and Practitioner* exams along with lots of practical experience, additional hints and tips ahead of the accredited examinations which are also undertaken at the workshop.

Eddie Kilkelly, Chief Operating Officer at ILX Group, commented, "Project failure continues to be a problem for many organisations, causing a massive financial strain when things goes wrong. Furthermore, project teams are often working to tight deadlines within a fast-changing, competitive business environment that often increases the level of risk. Yet with the right tools and techniques project failure can be prevented across public and private sectors. Our new
e-learning modules for Management of Risk accreditation have been developed to provide individuals with a clear framework for the management of risk across all parts of an organisation, based upon OGC's tried and tested guidance. The courses incorporate all the activities required to identify and control exposure to any type of risk, positive or negative, which may have an impact on an organisation's ability to achieve its business objectives."

According to the ILX Group, specific audiences that are likely to benefit from the M_o_R® courses include:

  • Corporate Managers - responsible for corporate governance and the organisation's overall exposure to risk

  • Programme and Project Managers - responsible for managing risk in projects

  • Operational Managers - responsible for risks that affect the on-going continuity of business services

  • All other personnel who have an interest or responsibility for the Management of Risk within their organisation.

The Management of Risk courses cover a wide range of topics, including business continuity management, security, project risk management and operational service management. The courses conform to OGC's syllabus for both Foundation and Practitioner Examinations. For further information and prices please contact This email address is being protected from spambots.
